We started out our day with breakfast at our favorite diner- Stone Creek Cafe! It's locally owned, amazing food, great service, fair prices & did I mention the YUMMY food :) We didn't get our "usual" table, but still managed to enjoy our time. Their pancakes & biscuits & gravy are TO DIE FOR! We highly recommend Stone Creek Cafe.
Next we went to Wahooz, formerly known as Boondocks, to get our mini-golf on. There was quite a bit of smack talk going on & even a bet made. Because of appropriateness issues, I won't be able to reveal the details of our bet ;) It was a beautiful day, 55 degrees, sunny, a little breezy, but perfect for a game of golf. There were shouts & gloats of victory, moans & groans of a 4 stroke hole, even a few frustrated moments where I may have gone a little ape crazy on my golf ball for not going in the hole like it should. It was neck and neck the entire game, I was ahead, then Sage, then we were tied... finally though Sage won... the game & the bet. In my defense, Sage was throwing his golf club around and totally whacked me in the knee with it. I have a very purple bruise & goose egg on my knee now, which is probably why I lost by only 5 points :)
After that we went to see the movie "How To Train Your Dragon" It was a great movie!! :) We highly recommend it. Don't tell him I told you, but Sage teared up a little at the end... or maybe that was me :) Then we went and checked into our hotel suite...which had it's own MASSIVE jacuzzi tub with a TV... very cool. Sage took me to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner... best food we've had. Sage even took a picture of his food :) Then we went back to the hotel and enjoyed our hot tub and wrote some goals for our next year of marriage. It was an amazing day of just spending time with my husband and forgetting the rest of the world for a bit.
Happy 1 Year Anniversary, Baby!! I can't wait to spend many more anniversaries with you. I love you with all my heart.

One Year... Almost :)
In a week we will have been married a year, it has been quite the experience:
I remember our wedding day and being so anxious to get that ceremony started :) I remember walking into the sanctuary at the church with such an excited (with a little nervous thrown in) feeling in my tummy. I remember him looking at me like I was the most beautiful woman in the world. And of course, he was so handsome in that tux. We joke now that he doesn't like any of his wedding pictures because he looks like he's 12 :) It was the happiest feeling in the world when I climbed into "our" Bronco as Mrs. Hickam! We were so exhausted when we got home and my ribs felt like they were going to crack from my dress. We just collapsed on the bed, laid there and stared at the ceiling.
We almost died twice on our honeymoon. We rented a snowmobile one of the days, the snow was so high that it covered fences and reached the bottom part of the stop signs. So obviously everything looked the same. You couldn't tell where the roads were. We tried following a map, but when you can't tell the roads from everything else, maps become quite UN-helpful. We were frightened that we would run out of gas, night would come, we would be in the middle of nowhere and then there would a headline in a few days that would read "Honeymooners Found Frozen After Three Days of Marriage." :) Thankfully, we found our way back and did not venture that far from civilization again. One of my favorite memories was sitting in the hot tub. The hot tub was on the porch of our cabin and surrounded by snow covered pine trees. We would turn the porch light off and sit in the hot tub. It snowed almost every night. We would just sit there and look up into the dark sky and watch the snow fall down. It was so beautiful, peaceful & quiet... I can actually remember hearing the snow fall. We watched movies, played games, went snowshoeing (which we weren't big fans of) and just enjoyed being married!
Have you seen the movie "Ice Age?" Well there is a character on there named Sid. Sid is a sloth. Sid has weird looking eyes. Because I have such poor eye sight, my glasses are on the thick side. So when I wear my glasses my eyes look funny. Thanks to my husband, because of this one similarity, I have inherited the nickname "Sid." I'm sure you've all seen the movies "Star Wars." My husband makes a noise that sounds curiously like the noises Chewbacca, the Wookie makes. You guessed it, Sage is now my Wookie. We actually have many, many other nicknames for each other. But the stories behind them are long & boring... but not to me :)

Sage's Birthday-Thank Heaven He's 22!
My hubby is now 22 yrs old, which makes us only 7yrs & 4months apart :) The scary part is next year when I turn 30, we won't even be in the same decade for 7yrs or so. He was so kind to point that out to me. We had a fun time for his birthday, I planned a big surprise for him. We went tubing at Bogus Basin for a couple hours, then off to Texas Roadhouse for a yummy dinner & we topped it off with a movie. It was a fun day with KJ, Cassie & my amazing hubby.
My parents had a combined birthday dinner for Jason & Sage. Sage's favorite cake is the rainbow chip cake with rainbow chip frosting. Unfortunately, this is different from the funfetti/sprinkle type cake. Mom wasn't sure which one to get. Jacob voted for rainbow chip, but mom got the funfetti. Good ol' Sage never said anything since he didn't want to hurt mom's feelings :) Mom has invented Sage's new favorite dessert: white chocolate dipped oreos. He inhaled them! Way to go Mom :)
